TAKE A STANCE
TAKE A STANCE
When learning to efoil, many people wrongly assume that you need to take a surfing stance. Afterall, aren't we surfing! We are, but it is different. With efoiling, you most often have a steady speed. With a steady speed, you don't need the large flex in your knees to be ready for the fluctuation in the wave.
Our advice: TAKE IT EASY
Find a stance that is evenly distributed between your two feet and directly over the center of the board's center of balance. This tends to be with your back foot near the latches, nearly touching them. The width of your stance should be about shoulder-width apart. This style will allow you to ride for minutes, even hours on the foil without fatigue to your legs.
Try it out, and let us know what you think of your new stance. We have over 200 students that would agree with you. Aloha from Hawaii!
